The name of this piece, "The Final Refuge", is inspired by a friend’s composition about the end of humanity on earth. His piece featured a gathering of the remaining humans and animals in a cave to watch the final destruction caused by human activity.

The cave was the final sanctuary of life. It was an image that has stuck with me, so I decided to use it as the title of this piece of atmospheric and melancholy music.

It’s composed using the new NI Kontakt Intrument ‘Arkhis’, cellos from the Spitfire Chamber Strings library and an acoustic guitar from Amplesound
